Larry's evening is spent reading and watching TV. He can spend no more than 4 hours total on these activities, and he wants to spend more time reading than watching TV. Find the equation of the given and make a graph out of this situation.

Respuesta :

In your problem which tells that Larry spend more than 40 hours total on reading and watching tv and he want to spend more time in reading than watching tv. So the first you have to do is Let the value of X be the time in reading the the Y is the time on watching tv. So the equations is that X>Y so you could say that X + Y > 40 where as X>Y<40
Let
x----------> time in hours Larry spends watching television
y---------->
time in hours Larry spends reading

we know that
[tex](x+y) \leq 4[/tex]  hours
and
[tex]y \ \textgreater \ x[/tex]

using a graph tool
see the attached figure

the solution is the shaded region
