1) Replacing x by x+5 translates the graph 5 units left (2nd selection). Adding 1 to the value of the function translates it 1 unit up (6th selection).
2) To stretch a function vertically by a factor of k, you multiply it by k.
[tex] g(x) = 3f(x) = 3 \times (8(3)^{x-2} +2) = 24(3)^{x-2} +6 [/tex]
3) g(x) is f(x) moved 2 units left and 1 unit up. (See problem 1 for clues.)
