Some transferable skills would be like if I was to go get a veterinarian's job well I've been around cows and big animals most of my life so I could take the skills from handling the cows and use that in my new job to keep from getting anybody hurt when I stick a needle in the cow. It would be called experience and if a boss thinks you have experience then he's more likely to hire you because you would take less on the job training in result dropping the chance you'd get hurt.
