To memorize historical note, I usually color-code the words of the note. Another method is imagining the words like people in a story. These are the methods I use all the time. For memorizing digits of Pi I color-code and for example whenever I see the digit 3 in Pi I think of grumpy cat, which is a character. Another way is keep reading the note until it annoys you like and overplayed song and you know the words to the song even though you don't want to remember it.
