Mateo is constructing an equilateral triangle inscribed in a circle with center P. What is his first step?

A. Draw a line tangent to a point on the circle using a straight edge.
B. Open his compass to a width equal to the diameter of the circle.
C. Draw the diameter of the circle through center using a straight edge.
D. Mark off segments equal to the diameter around the circle using a compass.

Respuesta :

the answer is c.draw the diameter of the circle through the center using a straight edge.

Answer:

To construct an Equilateral triangle inscribed in a circle with center P,

→Draw a circle with center P of any radius.

→With the help of Straight Edge, draw a line segment, passing through center P, cutting both ends of the circle. This line is Diameter of circle.Name it as NM.

→Putting one end of the compass,at one end of diameter, and opening the compass width equal to radius draw a circle passing through center of the circle.

→Mark point , A and B , on the original circle where the two circles  intersect. The Area occupied between two circles is minor segment.Join AB.This is one side of equilateral Triangle.

→Draw another side that is segment, from point A and touching the other end of Diameter ,at Point ,M.Join BM also.

→This is Required equilateral Δ ABM.

Option C: Draw the diameter of the circle through center using a straight edge.
