I actually got this answer from the other guy who answered here : Carlosego.
He had the right answer but thought about it too much and added some extra information that lead the answer off track. If you went back to what "a" is, you would get a<2.5.
Inequalities help us to compare two unequal expressions. The value of a that will satisfy the inequality is a<2.5.
What are inequalities?
Inequalities help us to compare two unequal expressions. Also, it helps us to compare the non-equal expressions so that an equation can be formed.
It is mostly denoted by the symbol <, >, ≤, and ≥.
We need to find the values of a that can satisfy the inequality given below.
[tex](2a-1) < (7-1.2a)[/tex]
Now, solving the inequality to find the value of a that will satisfy,
[tex]2a-1 < 7-1.2a\\\\2a+1.2a < 7+1\\\\3.2a < 8\\\\a < 2.5[/tex]
Thus, every value of a that is less than 2.5 will satisfy the inequality.
Hence, the value of a that will satisfy the inequality is a<2.5.
