Let's say Ken's age in years is k, and Erica's is r.

We know [tex]k-7=3(r-7)[/tex] and [tex]k+r=62[/tex]. 

Solving this system of equations, we get k = 43, and r = 19.

Therefore, Ken is 43 years old now.
