Based on Jillian’s behavior, we could observe that her episodic memory has been impaired but on the other hand, her semantic memory is still functioning. Episodic memory is where the memory of autobiographical events has been stored that contains an individual’s knowledge about his or herself, emotional events or personal experiences whereas semantic memory is known to be a long term memory in which the information being stored in an individual’s memory is not being drawn from his or her own experiences.
