Conditions of worth are usually acquired in childhood and are transmitted to the child.  She/ he learns that it's only going to be accepted or loved if s/he behaves, thinks and feels as is told to.  If Lulu doesn't want to be what her parents wants her to be, she will receive disapproval and rejection.
