It takes 40 min for a bus to travel the 36 miles from Framingham to Worcester. A car traveling from Worcester to Framingham moves 1.5 times as fast as the bus. If the car and the bus start moving towards each other simultaneously, after how many minutes will they meet?

Bus is moving: 40min / 60 min = 2/3 hr 36 is 2/3 speed in mph (miles per HOUR) 36 / (2/3) = 54 mph Car is 54 x 1.5 mph = 81 mph 81/60 = 1.35 miles / min & 54/60 = 0.9 mph In one minute they both cover 2.25 miles 36 miles / 2.25 miles = 16 minutes will have passed when they meet!

The answer is 16 mins
