We have three equations that we can use for this problem.

X1 − X3 = 35

X2 − X1 = 50 X3 – X2 = 15 To solve for C and A. We’ll take the first equation and put 23 for X1. X1 − X3 = 35 23 − X3 = 35 −X3 = 35 - 23 −X3 = 12 The estimated traffic flow for C and A is 12 cars per hour. Now, to solve for B and C, we’ll take the second equation and put 23 for X1 as well. X2−X1=50 X2− (23) =50 X2 = 50 + 23 X2 = 73 The estimated traffic flow for B and C is 73 cars per hour.
