2) it's obvious that Alex Baines committed the crime. He just looks guilty
The statements which reflect a bias toward the person accused of a crime are the following ones:
Alex Baines is a vandal and a bad person.
It's obvious that Alex Baines committed the crime. He just looks guilty.
In the first sentence, Alex is called a bad person, which is too exaggerated a statement, since whether a person is "bad" or "good" is something downright abstract and subjective, and only someone who truly disliked alex would have called him such a thing. It's like when someone breaks up with us and we find that person to be the world's most deranged psychopath, even though that's not true at all. It is certainly a biased attitude, which stems from utter subjectivity.
In the second sentence, the bias displayed is even clearer, since it is said that alex must be considered guilty merely for looking so. Whoever says such a thing is clearly getting carried away by anger or any other negative emotions towards a particular individual. That too is bias.
