Brother:        (4/9)x - 15 books

Sister:            x/3 - x/9

Total:              x/3 + (4/9)x - 15 + x/3 - x/9

The LCD here is 9.  Mult. all terms by 9 and simplify the resulting expression:

3x + 4x - 135 + 3x - x   =  7x + 3x - x - 135   =   9x - 135 books (answer)
