NAS stands for "Network Attached Storage". It a device design specially to store and manage files and within a network. It provides centralized data access and storage. NAS is somehow considered as a specialized external hard drive.

This usually acts like a router and when the process is initiated activities like printing, surfing the internet or even files that were in a device that can shared, stored, retrieved on the other device that the network is being shared with. An example of this can be a wireless printer, a mobile phone that the internet is shared with the computer or even a normal router which acts as a switch for sharing network activity.
