In 2010, (a) Haiti experienced a major earthquake, a disaster that struck outside the city of Port-Au-Prince. The 2010 Haiti Earthquake struck at a catastrophic magnitude in January of that year and an estimated three million people were affected by the earthquake and many countries responded with aid.
