I believe the right answer, based on this dialogue, is C. Women tend to communicate to build relationships.

Although, I don't fully agree that women do this in general. There are men who also do it, and there are women who don't. However, these two women from the dialogue apparently don't just want to talk about their weekends, but also to draw a common ground as a basis of a relationship.
