We have to calculate the length of stack RM. This is a pyramid with a rectangular base. If TS = 12 cm, then OM = TS / 2 = 12 / 2 = 6 cm. And since we already know that RO = 15 cm, we will use the Pythagorean theorem: RM^2 = 15^2 + 6^2; RM^2 = 225 + 36 = 261; RM = sqrt ( 261 ) ; RM = 16.1555 ( or 16.2 rounded to the nearest tenth ). Answer: RM = 16.2 cm.
