Can someone review this letter for me and tell me how to make it better? Dear Mr. Hart
On April 5th, 2024, my sisters and I took our grandparents out to dinner. We chose somewhere close to where my grandma stays and a place where we were always satisfied with our meal. We had gone inside to get a table for five. The service was friendly when we were told that there would be a 30-minute wait. While we had seen multiple open tables. Normally when we come the wait is about 10 minutes. I understand it was a Friday, but it was early noon. I am writing this letter to request that the service is quicker.
My hope coming into the restaurant was to be seated quickly. Not to sound arrogant but when I am hungry, I tend to get irritated faster. We were brought to a nearby table towards the front along with a few other tables that were cleaned off and had been cleared for a minute. My thing was, we sat there and waited hungry for a table while there were open tables right in front of us. Then there would be people who came in after us but got seated before us. Now you can imagine how annoying that must be. Especially with a person who was already hangry. (hungry x angry). It is such a bummer when you have high expectations and they end up being disappointed. I built this excitement and anticipation, only to be let down when reality falls short.
Now the servers we friendly and they did have patience with my grandpa who is old and needed some help from my grandma to make sure he does not order anything he is not supposed to have. The food came quick and tasted as good as I remember. The Whiskey Chicken BBQ wrap was what I had ordered. And it was better than I remembered. Probably because I was just hungry. The warm and attentive serves at Red Robin did help my irritation from starving dial down and they made my family and I feel welcomed and enjoyable.
Lastly, I expected that my family and I would be seated quickly. Sadly, I was let down by this. I came in with an optimistic mindset and high hopes only to feel irritated and starving. Even though the wait was 30 minutes, to me it felt like 50 minutes which is almost an hour. For a moment it seemed they had forgotten about us, even with us sitting there. As the minutes ticked by with open tables cleared off, the initial excitement to eat faded into frustration and disappointment.
Overall, I was happy with the service we got and the delicious food we ate. What matters is that my grandparents enjoyed themselves. However, I feel if a table clears up and you have people who have been waiting, why not seat them at an open table. I hope you can do better. Thank you for your time.
