Things in motion tend to stay in motion, things at rest tend to stay at rest. Your brain never slowed down to the point where it would get tired to sleep. If you were laying in bed trying to sleep all night but couldn't that could be a medical disorder but if you were doing things you're fine
Maybe the reason you can't sleep is because of the soda. Soda can sometimes put energy and that will make you energized not making you tired for the next couple of hours. Try to dim the lights and avoid being on your phone and also try to read a book and you will probably fall asleep.
