In order to add radical terms, you need the same index and the radicand.

The terms we are adding up meet both of those criteria. So, we can add them up.

[tex]4( \sqrt[5]{x^2y} ) + 3( \sqrt[5]{x^2y} ) = 7(\sqrt[5]{x^2y})[/tex]

So, [tex] 7(\sqrt[5]{x^2y}) [/tex] is the answer.
