This is just my opinion;
I feel like the president should have told Congress. He should have discussed the options with them before deploying troops. Also, the House Armed Services Committee should have discussed things in a better way rather than demanding things from the president. Congress seems to be in the right since the War Powers Act requires the president to let Congress know within two days of sending US troops overseas. The president didn’t talk with them, and then he didn’t let them know very soon after.
The Congress is right in this case.
The Congress is right because the President should notify about his military actions in 48 hours according to the War power Act. According to this War power Act, federal law provides authority to the President to send US military armed forces in a specific region by authorization of congress or if the United states is under attack or serious threat. This is the responsibility of the President to notify Congress in 48 hours and takes the approval otherwise the action should be challenged and reversed. As a judge I ask question from President that why you did not notify Congress about your decision.
