Which changes will increase the rate of reaction during combustion? decreasing the area of contact between the reactants adding more oxygen to the reaction removing heat from the reaction changing the reactants from solid form to powdered form lowering the exposure of the reactants to air

Respuesta :

Eku
The correct answer is B. The addition of oxygen will increase the rate of combustion. oxygen and raw material (fuel) are the substrates for the combustion process, therefore, increase in the same will obviously increase combustion rate. Carbon in the fuel is converted into carbon dioxide and heat.

Answer;

  • Adding more oxygen to the reaction
  • Changing the reactants from solid form to powdered form

Explanation;

  • The rate of chemical reaction depends on a number of factors, these factors are factors such as temperature, concentration of reactants, concentration of reactants and using catalyst among others.
  • Increasing temperature in a chemical reactions increases the rate of reaction as there will be increased collision of particles of the reactants thus more products will be formed.
  • Increasing the surface area of the reactants also increase the rate of reaction, this is done by changing the reactants from the form of solid into powdered form thus, there will be more collisions between reactants particles and this will enhance formation of products.
  • Increasing the concentration of reactants, for example increasing the amount of oxygen in the reaction which one of the reactant, will increase the rate of reaction.
