Tikal, was a city that took place during the period of ancient civilisation wherein it was considered to be the capital city of the whole Mayan empire. In addition, the location of the city was essential for its strategic geographical location and the abundance of natural resources in which it made the Mayan civilisation among the most powerful at that time.
