Hi, i need to write an essay saying who i would have voted for during the 1828 election but i don't know much about andrew jackson and john quincy adams.

I just need like 5 bullet points about each so i can make an informed decision.

Respuesta :

Andrew Jackson:

1st: Andrew Jackson was a lawyer and a landowner

2nd: He became a national hero when he defeated the British in New Orleans during the war of 1812 as an American soldier

3rd: Thomas Jefferson called Andrew Jackson a, "dangerous" man.

4th:  Others thought he was an opportunist

5th: Lots of people talked about him as if he was George Washington

If Thomas Jefferson called him a dangerous man, it was probably for a reason, am I right?

John Quincy Adams:

1st:
Southerners opposed John Adams because John Adams opposed slavery, meaning he didn't want slavery

2nd: Most of the Clay supporters switched their votes to John Adams which is why John Quincy Adams won by 1 vote margin

3rd: Clay was with John Quincy Adams because John accepted Clay's deal of having him as secretary of state, but Jackson didn't

That's all I got, sorry man.
