Anna bought a package of one dozen eggs at the store.she used 1/4 of them to make cookies,and her brother used 2/3 of them to cook breakfast for the family.add the fraction to calculate the number of eggs used and then determine how many eggs were left?

A dozen of eggs is 12 eggs.
1/4 of 12 is 3, so 3 eggs have been taken.
2/3 of 12 is 8, so 8 eggs have been taken.
3+8 = 11 
Therefore, 1 egg was left.

1/4 + 2/3 = 11/12
