You can see dissent in "Harrison Bergeron" with the character called Ballerina and in "The Lottery" with the character Tessie Hutchinson. The two are killed by other characters as punishment for their dissent.
In “Harrison Bergeron” we are introduced to a region that lives under strong government oppression. In this government, all citizens must act equally and must not stand out in any hypothesis so that the entire population is egalitarian. In this context, the ballerina is very talented and beautiful, but she must hide her face and not show her own talent, when she decides to go against it, she is killed as a punishment for dissent.
In "The Lottery" all citizens have to participate in the city's tradition that consists of drawing someone through a lottery. The person drawn must be stoned to death. Everyone must arrive on time for the lottery and Tessie arrives late, in addition to questioning the fairness of the draw. This behavior also encourages Tessie's murder for having acted differently from the others.
