Nanny is recognized both in Jamaica and abroad: In 1975, the Jamaican government named Queen Nanny a National Hero.

The initiative to recognize Nanny as a National Heroine was led by Colonel C.L.G. Harris of Moore Town, who was at the time a Senator in Jamaica's upper house.  Her image can be found on the $500 Jamaican dollar bill, which is also known as a "Nanny."

Every October, on Jamaican National Heroes Day, Nanny is honored.

In Moore Town, Portland, Jamaica, there is a monument called Nanny's Monument.

In 1977, Kingston, Jamaica's residential neighborhood of Nannyville Gardens was established and given her name.

Nanny's image is featured in the logo of Yale University's Gilder Lehrman Center for the Study of Slavery, Resistance, and Abolition.Research and conferences on slavery in the Americas are funded by the Center.

Nanny's name is given to a ship in the Jamaica Defence Force Coast Guard. Nanny of the Maroons, HMJS.
