Odysseus does not return to ithaka with other war survivors because

c. he has been curiously exploring other lands.
d. he has been visiting helen and menelaus.
Both b and c are correct. He gets taken in by Calypso. But he also explores many other islands (although perhaps this was not always driven by choice or curiosity)
