The title of the story is like a person's name without which the person has no identity and cannot be referred to an an individual. The title of the story is important and mandatory for many reasons listed below:

  • It depicts the central idea
  • Catches the attention of readers
  • Can be used to refer to the story at a later stage

Thus a story without title loses its meaning and fails to grab the attention of readers, who may not make an effort to go through the entire story without knowing what is it about. Even if the story is very well written, it does not prove its worth in case the story title is missing. It is therefore recommended to have an appropriate title to the story.
