The new kingdom sculptural form that is embodied by the statute of senenmunt and nefrura is called Block statute.

What is a block statue?

The block figure was added to the repertoire of statue types around 2000 BC. The first surviving examples of this type of statue were discovered in tombs, but the block figure quickly began to appear in temples, allowing the person it portrayed to participate in god religion.

The body of the crouching figure has been reduced to the shape of a cube, with its knees squeezed against the body. Only the head protrudes, making it appear more dynamic than the block-shaped body. This type of statue was extremely popular during the New Kingdom and the Late Period.

This could be because the cube's surfaces provided enough space for biographical inscriptions, allowing the subject to identify himself to temple visitors who could read. The block figure was the only type of statue used by private individuals rather than the king.
