What is external otitis?

External otitis refers to  condition that causes redness and swelling of the external ear canal. Ear canal is the tube between the outer ear and eardrum.

If external otitis is not protected and taken care properly, then it can make the ear canal more vulnerable to inflammation.

External otitis is also referred to as "swimmer's ear", which is caused by fungi or bacteria. Basically, it is an inflammation and infection of the external ear canal.
