Metamorphic rocks are formed by transforming the pre-existing rocks. The change that should be brought upon to the rock by the treatment should occur both in physical and chemical properties. Jackhammer will only cause physical changes to rock, that is why the construction worker will not be able to produce metamorphic rock.
