I believe the problem is just simply asking for us to convert the value from one unit to the other. This case from m^3 to km^3. From the SI units, we know 1 km is equal to 1000 m. We do as follows:
118 m^3 ( 1 km / 1000 m )^3 = 1.18 x 10^-7 km^3
118 m^3 ( 1 km / 1000 m )^3 = 1.18 x 10^-7 km^3
Answer: [tex]118\times 10^{-9}km^3[/tex]
Explanation:
Volume of the gas is defined as the space occupied by a substance. It is expressed in units like [tex]cm^3[/tex], [tex]m^3[/tex] , L and ml etc
All these units of volume are inter convertible.
We are given:
Volume of the gas = [tex]118m^3[/tex]
Converting this unit of volume into 'L' by using conversion factor:
[tex]1m^3=10^{-9}km^3[/tex]
[tex]118m^3=\frac{10^{-9}}{1}\times 118=118\times 10^{-9}km^3[/tex]
Hence, the volume will be [tex]118\times 10^{-9}km^3[/tex]
