In the medieval literature and drama work was common to see themes as courtly love, religious devotion, lamentation, satirical observation, philosophical musings, and moral/practical instruction, this last one was particularly represented in plays, the third major type of Western medieval theatre was the morality play in which the writers were trying to explain the collapse of social and moral order in their society. This type of theatre was a response to the medieval preoccupation of fortune and fate, how a person was had a path to follow according to his destination and choices.
