John Dalton's atomic theory contains 4 postulates. Which postulate(s) still hold(s) true today. Mark all that apply. *

Atoms of different elements can combine physically and chemically.
Atoms are indivisible.
Chemical reactions occur when atoms are joined or separated.
Atoms of the same element are identical.

Respuesta :

The postulate that atoms are indivisible is no longer correct because atom can now be divided into proton, neutron and electron. Atoms of some elements are not identical in mass, these elements are called isotopes, even though they are the same atom they have different masses. It is only statements 1 and 3 that still hold true today. When atoms combine physically they form compounds, when they combine physically they form mixture.
The indivisibility of the atom ( postulate B ) is proved wrong. An atom can be subdivided into electrons, protons and neutrons.
Atoms of the same element can vary in their masses and densities ( in postulate D ). The atoms of the same element with different masses are called isotopes.
      Answer:
Postulates that still hold true today are: A ) Atoms of different elements can combine physically and chemically. and C ) Chemical reactions occur when atoms are joined or separated.
