One week, 72 people got a speeding ticket. The next week, only 36 people got a speeding ticket. What a the percent of change in speeding tickets?

I think the percentage is 50%

So to solve this problem, you have to find the difference of 72 and 36. So 72 - 36 = 36. 36 will be the percentage. Then you have to find the total, which is 72 + 36 = 108. 
Basically, you have to find 36% of 108. 

36 / 100 = 0.36
0.36 x 108 = 38.88
