The answer that would best complete the given statement above would be the second option: replaced. Damaged cells of an organism are usually REPLACED by mitosis. Mitosis is a process of cell division which is a part of a cell cycle. Hope this answers your question.

Repaired is the correct answer, not sure why everyone keeps saying it's replaced
