How do I analyze an argument and build a convincing case in support of my claim to convince the other party to see things my way... How can I do this an essay

I suggest starting off by writing down your argument and then analyzing your thoughts, creating notes on a separate piece of paper, notes that will show the strong points of your argument AND the weak points - yes pointing out the weak points will give them ideas on how to counter your argument, but if you thoroughly read their counter-argument then you will see they expose their weak points without realising it. As for putting it into an essay, first, you'll need to start the introduction, of course. Explain what your argument is, and why it's relevant to the current situation. Secondly, you will need to develop your argument - What are the strong and weak points of your argument based off of the notes previously taken. Then, you'll nee to reflect your opponents argument - read through their argument and takes notes of their strong and weak points, as you did with yours, this will help you see how they have developed their argument, and assist you in breaking theirs apart. Finally, the conclusion. This will explain the en of your argument, tie all loose knots and show why your argument is the better and more effective argument. Hope this helped my dear! :)
