So when you hit a wall, you do not instantly stop (e.g. the trunk of the car will still move because the car ... time will never tend to zero either, which means that you cannot come to an instantaneous stop.
A moving object cannot come to a stop instantaneously because of Newton's first law of motion which states. "An object at rest stays at rest and an object in motion stays in motion unless acted upon by a different force" Object in motion dont want to stop moving, just like objects at rest dont wan to start moving.
