At the scene of a crime. A police officer questions witnesses about the details of a holdup. The officer suspectd that some of the witnesses are connected with the crime. How doee the Miranda rights apply in sich an instance.

The officer doesn't have to read them their rights because they are not being arrested or detained they have a right to leave while the officer is questioning them. So since the officer only suspects he cant charge them with anything.
