The westerlies, anti-trades, or prevailing westerlies, are prevailing winds from the west toward the east in the middle latitudes between 30 and 60 degrees latitude. They carry moisture giving their region rainfall. Since North Carolina lies between 35.7596° N, 79.0193° W and its latitude and longitude is exactly where westerlies wind happen so we can say that according to the position of North Carolina, Westerlies are the winds that could deliver cold air to North Carolina.
