Respuesta :
President Truman at the time, had no idea of the extent of the effects of the Atomic Bomb despite being tested. The only reason he allowed it is because of having information that it was a "military base" and that no civilians would be harmed. Sadly this wasn't the case as Japan found out the hard way. Lastly, the Atomic Bomb costed 2 billions dollars at the time, and that would be a huge blow to the economy.
Answer:
Truman knew that atom bombs would be disastrous, but he wasn't sure what effects they would have and how it would affect the United States. For this reason he hesitated to launch them in Japan.
Explanation:
The Atomic Bomb is a nuclear energy weapon that has a great power of destruction. It was elaborated during World War II when there was a need to develop new combat weapons. Based on this need, some scientists have conducted atom research based on Albert Einstein's theories.
In 1942, scientists in the United States conducted the first atomic experiment and were successful. Taking advantage of the discovery, US President Harry Truman, wishing to force Japan out of the war, ordered two bombs to be dropped on the country.
For a moment Truman hesitated to order the bombs to be dropped in Japan. Truman knew of the bomb's destructive power, and he knew the result would be a massacre. However, he had no idea what effect this would have on the world, and he also did not know if it would bring reprisals on the United States and what the country's view of the world would look like.
