John needs 48 stamps to complete his stamp collection. He has 30 stamps so far. What equation could you use to solve the number of stamps John needs?

Just looking at the question we know he needs 18 more stamps.
You can plug in 18 for s in each of the answer choices and see that B is the only one that makes sense
