“In 1962, US planes discovered Soviet nuclear missiles in Cuba. The entire world was afraid that World War III could begin! US President John F. Kennedy and Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev managed to de-escalate the situation. The US removed its own missiles from Turkey and the Soviet Union removed the missiles from Cuba. This event was known as the Cuban Missile Crisis.”

Explain how the Cold War further increased tensions between the US and the Soviet Union during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Because when Soviet Union had put down the bombs in Cuba America was very fearful because in a matter of seconds it would of reached America this increased tension by making America make a blockade which would stop supplies and bombs come in which made the Soviet Union angry about that but in the end they made an agreement
