•Rome became very weak at the end of it’s reign (in the 400s) and it’s collapse threw the world into chaos
•There were wholesale genocides of the jews and Gauls during the life of Rome
•Slavery was a Roman staple of conquered peoples often found themselves enslaved by the empire
•Crazy emperors would do horrible things often.
•Rome was highly patriarchal.
•Since Rome was an empire it gave over total control to the emperor.
•Civil wars were constant in Rome.
