advantages would be having people question if they really wanted to be ruled by the royal family, if they wanted to keep obeying someone who was out of control with power and wanted nothing more but more money and dis-advantages would be this splits up the people of england you have the loyalists and the patriots loyalists obviously stayed true to the kings power and didn't want to take any risks of making the king unhappy but patriots were the rules breakers and risk takers they knew what they wanted and a monarchy wasnt it.
