The components of a balanced diet are:
- Carbohydrates are major energy sources and are present in wheat, oats, rice, potatoes, fruit etc. Fats are an energy storage component and are found in seeds, nuts and dairy.
- For tissue development and growth, proteins are crucial and are found in eggs, pulses, soya, fishes etc.
- The blood sugar and healthy bowels are maintained by fibres found in beans, brown rice, whole grains etc.
