Method #1: Magnet
The magnet will attract the magnetic iron-rich particles, while the table salt stays still.
Method #2: Water
Put the salt and iron-rich particles into water. The salt will dissolve, leaving behind the iron-rich particles.
Method #3: Polar Liquids
Besides water, table salt can also dissolve in vinegar and dimethyl sulphoxide. These are known as polar liquids, and the more polar one is, the greater speed in which the salt will dissolve.
The other answer contains the most common methods so the ones below are kind of un-usual:
1. Centrifuge - it is a machine that spins things around in circles. As salt and iron have different densities, they will separate.
2. Pass the mixture in an electric field - a force will be exerted on the magnetic particles when they move through an electric field and changed their paths. Salt particles will pass straight through.
3. Heat the mixture up - iron has a higher melting point. So the salt particles will melt first.
