Is this statement true or false?

The atoms that make up the element oxygen are exactly the same as the atoms that make up the element hydrogen.

A. True

B. False

PLEASE HELP!!!

Respuesta :

The correct answer is B. False I believe because the element hydrogen is made from atoms containing just one protons and one electrons. So The correct  is B. False.

That's false.  If they were exactly the same, there would be no reason to have two different names for the same substance.

We also know they're different because if you take a jar of Hydrogen and a jar of Oxygen, let them mix and then stick a match into the mixture, the mixture burns with a blue flame, then it explodes with a loud pop, and then water drips out of the flame.  Obviously they can't both be the same substance.
