Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone by JK Rowling

I believe the original book is better then the movies. The book has many different things that the movie failed to put in. For example in the book the Sorcerers Stone, there is a death-day party for Sir Nicholas Whimsy, but it is not included in the movie. The book goes into detail about what is going on inside Harry's head and how he is feeling, but movies can't go as in depth as the books.
